The key to
effectively searching the Cybrary is to remember that it
provides a directory of criminal justice-related sites on the
Web.
When you request a search, the Cybrary search engine polls
its proprietary database of over 12,000 criminal justice-related
sites looking for matches. Please remember that this search
engine searches site names and site descriptions. It does not
search for individual pages or articles that may appear
within those sites.
Performing a Search
To perform a search, simply type the word or words that
describe your topic into the white search box and click
"GO."
Type phrases without quotes just as you want them to appear
in your search results. For example:
police
drug court
You may also use
Boolean searching.
A Cybrary Boolean search finds exactly the words you typed
and allows you to combine terms with and and or.
For example:
prisons OR jails
You may enter a
complicated Boolean string including a phrase surrounded by
quotation marks, such as:
police AND "las vegas"
The Boolean
operator not is not enabled at this time.
